Boosting the Immune System, Spiritually

Updated: Feb 20, 2022

Two years ago, we were introduced to a significant sickness that increased the number of deaths within a short period of time. As the coronavirus flooded the internet, news channels, and all social media platform, the immune system crept in as well.

Worldwide, health educators step in to assist us in learning the importance of building a stronger immune system. The downside, to this, is failing to learn and know more about our spiritual immunity. We lack the very knowledge of our spiritual immunity and act as if it doesn't exist. Without the spirit, the flesh doesn't live.

To have life, God breathes it into us as we receive new mercy every morning. (Read Job 33:4 and Lamentations 3:22-23)

Many of us know and are aware of how we can build/boost our immune system physically (for the body), but many lack the very wisdom on ways to strengthen our spiritual immunity.

Before we take a step deeper, let's get into the immune system and its role in the human body.

Physically

The immune system is made up of a network of cells, tissues, and organs that work together to protect the body from bacteria, illness, and other sicknesses.

For our immunity to work, the body needs to break down. That way, our immune system will notice the cause of the breakdown, prepare for it and fight it.

Ways to prepare for the breakdown and to build your immunity:

  1. Consume Fruits and Vegetables (mainly the ones with Vitamin C, Vitamin. D, and Zinc)

  2. Increase certain foods that have healthy-protein (protein helps fight off disease and illnesses)

  3. Increase Fiber Intake

  4. Don't Smoke

  5. Exercise regularly

Spiritually

The spiritual immune system is the Spirit of God joined with the word of God, living and working inside of us to protect us from the plans of the enemy.

Plans of the enemy include stress, depression, frustration, anxiety, malice, evil-doing, hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness, hardened hearts, and sinful desires that don't bring glory to our Father.

John 10:10 tells us the work of the enemy is to kill, steal, and destroy. That's his job; there's nothing we can do about it but believe Christ comes so that we may have life and have it more abundantly. To receive and experience this promising abundance, we ought to limit the space we give to the enemy and create room for God to step in. Less of us and more of him. (Read Jonh 3:30)

The spiritual immune helps us endure and strengthen our faith when life throws us a curve like our physical immunity. Because we are faced with life every day, we have the opportunity to boost our spirit immune system.

“All Scriptures is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16 NKJV.

God's WORD is truth and our inspiration which leads us on the right path when dealing with ALL craziness of life. His word helps us stand solid and firm in our faith. But how do we do that? By allowing the word of God to fill our spirits, soul(heart, mind), and body.

Below are a few scriptures to help build and boost our spiritual immune system.

Ephesians 6:10-18 / Putting the Armor of God

Philippians 4:6-8 / Thinking of the good things

Corinthians 6:19-20 / The body is the temple of the Holy Ghost

1 Peter 5: 6-10 /Stand Firm in Faith

2 Timothy 1:7 / God didn't give us the spirit of fear

Galatians 2:3 / Fruits of the Spirit

Roman 12:1-2 / Renewing your mind

Read and Meditate.

Let's pray.

Heavenly Father,

Great is your faithfulness, for you are worthy of our praise! All of the honor and glory belong to you. We come before you with great thanksgiving. We are praising you for life, our health, and our strength. Lord, we ask for your guidance and direction. We pray that you give us spiritual wisdom and understanding to know your will for our lives. In your NAME, you bring good health and longevity. Father, we lean on you for a better way of thinking, and we set our hearts to respect you and obey your word. Please grant us the strength we need to endure in our faith. Lord, we step out as your step in. We decrease as you increase. We thank you! In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Let's hold each other accountable. A stronger immune system, spiritually, builds and strengthens our physical immunity.

God Bless.
