The training that leads to Optimal Health

Updated: Feb 19

"Eat right and work out" are the most common statements and training practices towards great health, but it isn't the solution to optimal health. What about the kind of training involved in meditation? Silence and solitude? Body Cleansing? True Fasting? Or reading the word of God?

Training serves as an act of teaching someone a particular skill or a type of behavior. Training also favors discipline to develop a practical skill or behavioral lifestyle. The kind of training that leads to God-favored health is spiritual training. Physical and Spiritual activity both prepares an individual for a healthier lifestyle but spiritual training prepares for everlasting.

Unyqprocess does believe Exercise and Nutrition to be the natural-physical medicine for optimal health. Still, we also lean on the Word of God, primarily, to be the ultimate medicine to possible healing and everlasting health.

"For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come" - 1 Timothy 4:8 (KJV)

Spiritual training starts with the word of God. It guides us to follow two simple steps to open the door for God to speak and receive insight into what he is saying. James 1:22 shares those steps with us. "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." (NKJV)

Step 1: Open the Bible (Hearers)

Begin to read, study and receive the word of God.

Step 2: Live out the Word (Doers)

Appy and meditate on the word of God daily.

The word of God becomes alive in our lives by reading and pushing the desire to apply what we've encountered. That way, we learn the importance of discipleship, setting our mines to the spirit, and choosing obedience. Yes, it's hard work, just like any other training, but it's worth it! While we strive for excellence, we should prioritize spiritual training before physical training.

The Word of God ...is the only medicine that will never lead to an overdose.

We constantly depend on Exercise and Nutrition to be the solution to excellent health but do not understand that our health problems are spiritually rooted. Exercise and Nutrition can't take the place of spiritual living. It helps maintain and balance the body, but it isn't strong enough to prevent spiritual attacks.

First and Second Timothy are letters from Apostle Paul to Timothy, a young minister in the church. As he wrote those letters, He told Timothy that physical training is good, but it benefits a little, but biblical training helps the life we have now (health, etc.) and the life to come, eternal life with Jesus Christ. Exercising in godliness serves a greater purpose than exercising for self-desires.

The word of God is the primary source of life. It provides the tools we need to succeed in our everyday health and is the only medicine that will never lead to an overdose. Of course, we know this isn't an easy practice. Life happens, and we allow our self- desires to step in the way by doing what we want to do and not making room to hear from God. Please, let's not make "life" or our troubles to be our excuse to drift away but continue to stay in His word.

Note: Our Creator is bigger than our problems and we can do all things through HIM who strengthens us.

Read Philippian 4:13 and Psalms 121

But what if we still are stuck in confusion? James 1: 5 tells us that "if we lack wisdom, ask our generous LORD, and He will give it to us without finding fault." Verse 6 continues to say to us "to believe that we received it." And Proverbs 4:7 adds to teaching us to get an understanding once we receive wisdom.

"Wisdom is the principle thing; therefore, get wisdom and in all thy getting, get understanding." Proverbs 4:7

Begin to enjoy reading and applying God's word the way he intended. Notice how He helps change the way we think by knowing His will for our lives, which is perfect, good, and pleasing. Choose the Word of God to be your daily medicine and not a daily chore.

Prayer:

Father, we honor and praise you in our health. We give our troubles to you. We know that you are the creator of all life, and it is by your strength that we can have our being. We don't take this lightly. We want to take control of our health by giving it back to you. Teach us how to live out your WORD daily and correct us when we stray. Our lives aren't our own; we belong to you too. We bless your HOLY name! For you alone are worthy. We claim victory over our health today! In Jesus Name, Amen.
